POI Cody Perez Sought in Carina Saunders Murder
Update: Cody Perez is has been cleared as a POI. Story.
Carina Saunders' body was found dismembered and stuffed inside a duffel bag. One man, Kyle Tweed, has been questioned in relation to her murder. He has been cleared and released. Another man, however, has gone missing.
Cody Perez, a chef, reportedly sold his culinary knives for fifty dollars at an area pawn shop. Strangely, Perez left his paycheck behind at the Olive Garden where he worked. He was last seen wearing a blue and white uniform with checkered pants. Police want to speak with Perez regarding Saunder's murder.
It was reported earlier that the FBI was involved in the search for Perez. An agent with the FBI has said this is not true. The FBI is, however, helping to develop a profile of the killer.
Perez has a criminal background including assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon. He was apparently released from prison back in March of this year. He considers himself a Juggalo, a fan of the hip hop group Insane Clown Posse. A person of interest is not necessarily a suspect. For all we know, Perez may even be a victim himself, though that seems unlikely at this point.
Cody Allen Perez is a 21-year-old white male, 5' 10" tall, approximately 167 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
