CSN Net Clean-Up: An April Assortment

Note: CSN Smackdown is now known as CSN Net Clean-Up.

CSN Net Clean-Up is our effort to keep sex offenders off of social networking sites. We only profile those who are in violation, that is, known sex offenders who create and maintain profiles on sites such as Facebook and MySpace.

Since it has been a while since the last CSN Net Clean-Up post, we’re going to do a larger sweep this time. This round should clean a quite a few these sex offenders off of social networking sites. So, let’s get to it:

The Zodiac on True Crime with Aphrodite Jones – A Response

I watched Aphrodite Jones’ True Crime on Investigation Discovery tonight. The episode was about the Zodiac Killer, a crime I have studied for quite some time now. Jones’ guests on the show were Dennis Kaufman and Nanette Barto, who claim that the Zodiac was Jack Tarrance –Kaufman’s stepfather. I think Ms. Jones coverage of the case was compelling. I think the Zodiac case deserves some serious attention and I believe that is the same goal Jones had in mind with this episode. Aphrodite Jones is good at what she does and, while I do not agree with her on many topics, I believe she is truly sincere. The episode is very well produced. It is very convincing –Aphrodite does her job well. However, I have some serious problems with the theory embraced on this episode.

Colonial Parkway Victim’s Families to Hold Fundraiser

Solving unsolved homicides takes money -especially after the cases have gone cold. The Colonial Parkway murders have never been solved, but with a renewed investigation now active, funds are needed to pay for investigative fees and to encourage those with knowledge about the crimes to come forward. Families have to pay certain costs for services involved with cold case investigations. Sometimes resources outside of law enforcement are required. Sometimes the families have legal fees or other costs to contend with as they seek justice for their family members.
