John Perry-Rydz Goes to Jail

I first wrote about John Perry-Rydz of Grand Chute, Wisconsin in March of last year. Perry-Rydz had set up hidden camera to capture video of his 10-year-old relative as she undressed in his bathroom. He was investigated for child pornography by the FBI. His computer was confiscated way back in September of 2008. Investigators discovered over 1000 child pornography images on that computer. Two video files were of the child in his bathroom, changing into and out of her swimsuit. He confessed to setting up the camera used to spy on the child.
I didn't notice back then that Perry-Rydz also had some other sex crimes going on. It seems that both he and his wife, Elizabeth Perry-Rydz (right), were arrested back then and charged with sexual assault and prostitution. On at least two of those occasions, their mentally-disabled victim was asked to perform sexual favors and in return, John Perry-Rydz would buy her stuff for her. He bought her a belly button piercing, a video game and some clothing items. Both Elizabeth and John Perry-Rydz pleaded no contest and were found guilty of prostitution/sexual contact.
So, here's what is next for John Perry-Rydz:
First of all, he gets to spend 4 1/2 years in jail for one count of pornography and for capturing an image of child pornography. But wait, there's more: Tomorrow he is sentenced for the prostitution charges, so he could face even more time. Then, he has the federal charges of pornography stemming from the FBI's investigation. He will sentenced for those charges next month, where he five-year mandatory minimum sentence.
Perry-Rydz asked Judge Mitch Metropulos last Friday to place him in a mental health institution. No word on how that ploy is going. He will spend seven years on extended supervision when he gets out of prison.
