Thanks to “A” from The Dead Kids of Myspace for helping get this project going –and for regularly scouting out these offending profiles. Social networking sites contain countless profiles belonging to sex offenders. Sites like MySpace and Facebook “purge” their rosters in cooperation with law enforcement. Still, many profiles slip through. Some are cleverly disguised. Some are blatant attempts by the offender to pretend nothing ever happened. Some are just abandoned –but the potential for illicit contact or grooming behavior remains until the profiles have been shut down entirely.
