All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Just because someone is accused, does not necessarily mean they are guilty.
This fact, however, does not diminish the right of the people to hold their own opinion, or their right to express that opinion freely.

Geronimo, Oklahoma: Amber Alert

(This story has been updated. See the newer post, here.)

Aja JohnsonLester HobbsAn Amber Alert was issued Sunday for Aja Danielle Johnson (Some agencies are reporting her name as "Jotson.")

Aja (pronounced "Asia") was supposedly kidnapped before 9:00 PM yesterday (January 24) by Lester Hobbs. Hobbs is also a suspect in the murder of the child's mother, his estranged wife in Geronimo, Oklahoma. 37-year-old Tonya Hobbs was killed shortly before the abduction. She was found dead inside her RV  at 203 Minnesota in Geronimo. The medical examiner’s office is performing an autopsy on Tonya Hobbs’ body. Lester Hobbs is not the child's father. Tonya had filed a protective order against Lester Hobbs in August of last year in Lincoln County.

Aja is a seven-year-old white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She's about 4' high and weighs about 65 lbs. She is said to have a very thin build. There is no clothing description. She is said to be bipolar with other medical descriptions.

Recent PhotoLester Hobbs is described as a 47-year-old white male with brown hair and green eyes. His hairline is receding and he has multiple tattoos. He is reportedly around 5'9" to 6'1" tall and weighs about 180 lbs. He no longer has the goatee depicted in the above photo. he is said to have a moustache.

Hobbs may be driving a 1992 white Toyota Paseo with license plate number 577-BPW. The rear window of the vehicle has been replaced with sheet metal. He may be headed to Davenport in Lincoln County, Oklahoma where his sister lives. Before his wife moved to Geronimo, the couple lived in Davenport.

Hobbs has a prior criminal record and may be armed with the weapon he used to kill his wife. A record of his incarceration can be found here. (Including tattoo descriptions.)

If you have any information about the whereabouts of Aja Johnson, Lester Hobbs, or the vehicle, call 911 immediately. You can contact the Geronimo Police Department at this direct line: 580-355-1115.
