Two POI’s Sought in the Murder of Cynthia Langrall
Update: Some of this story's questions have been answered. Greg Allen Hawkins, a person of interest in the murder of Cynthia Langrall, has killed himself. Hawkins was involved in a stand-off today with police in northern California. Hawkins had barricaded himself inside a home. Hawkins had been missing for two weeks. James Jay Keefer, who is reportedly Hawkins' roommate, is still missing.
On December 21, at about 5:45 AM, shots were heard in the area of 7300 W. Donald Avenue in Glendale, Arizona. Only seconds earlier, a resident's surveillance camera captured the image of a car passing through the area. A shocked neighbor found the body of a woman who would later be identified as 57-year-old Cynthia Ann Powell –a woman who regularly jogged in the area. Langrall was found lying in the street. She was taken to John C. Lincoln Hospital in critical condition. She did not survive. Langrall had been shot in the head. She was the wife of Charles Weber, of Glendale.

Almost a week earlier, 55-year-old James Jay Keefer, of Peoria, told his family he was going to explore an area near Hackman, northeast of Kingman, Arizona. He was to return by December 19. Keefer never returned home. His family sought help from the public in locating him. He was reported to police as a missing person. According to the MCSO, Keefer is now considered a homicide suspect –along with a 48-year-old Greg Allen Hawkins who is believed to be accompanying him.
According to the Glendale Police Department, Greg Hawkins is considered a "person of interest" in Cynthia Langrall's homicide. Oddly, it was only days earlier that police were saying that Keefer might be in danger due to his association with Hawkins. Yesterday, however, the Mojave County Sheriff's Department announced that they were informed by police in Glendale that Keefer is now a suspect in the homicide. (Note: There are conflicts in what is being said by law enforcement officials. Peoria police say they have not identified either man as a suspect.) As of this writing both men remain missing.
Along with the missing men, there are missing answers to certain questions: Why was Cynthia Langrall murdered? Do the two men know each other? Is one man a victim of the other? Where have the men gone? Are they still together, or have they gone their separate ways? Are they both alive? Is one of the men an innocent victim?
