All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Just because someone is accused, does not necessarily mean they are guilty.
This fact, however, does not diminish the right of the people to hold their own opinion, or their right to express that opinion freely.

Solved: Cori Daye Desmond Murder

DesmondDesmondInvestigators have finally made an arrest in the murder of 28-year-old Cori Daye Desmond. CrimeShadows News first brought you the story of Desmond’s mysterious death on February 18. The young woman’s body had been found just two days earlier, wrapped in a bag and dumped in a ravine near a San Bernardino Mountain road. Her body had suffered blunt force trauma, but an exact cause of death has not been released.

Desmond’s father found her Jeep Wrangler parked just two blocks from the Bac Street Lounge in Redondo Beach, where she was last seen alive.

Perez35-year-old Tony Lopez Perez is accused of murdering Cori Desmond on February 16. His motive: sexual assault. Not hard to believe. Check out his MySpace pages. He has a couple of them. On one of them he uses the name "theredondoperezfamily." He says he is the general manager of the Spitfire Grill. The other is labeled "ocstraycat." On the latter, Perez logs in on September 27 with the following comment: "everybody wants some. I do too." Mood: horny. He had the nerve to write such a comment after randomly attacking a woman, brutally killing her, and then dumping her body –leaving her family and friends to wonder.

PerezThis photo (left) is labeled "me trying to look like a human." It looks like he knew he wasn’t a man, but a monster. (Note: The photo was enhanced for clarity. The original was much darker. I thought the enhancement appropriate, as we are now seeing his dark side.)

An anonymous tip led to Perez’s arrest. He was taken into custody on Friday. Evidence recovered from Desmond’s Jeep links Perez to the horrific crime. Desmond’s family had put up signs and billboards in an effort to find out who killed her. Perez, a father of two, lived just two blocks from where Desmond was kidnapped.

Tony Perez had set up a profile on Match.com. Following are a few excerpts from the ad he had placed there:

Tony Perez is a predator, and he was on the prowl. With one death on his toll, we can only wonder if he has brought harm to anyone else. Fortunately, he has been apprehended. Let us all hope he stays off the streets forever.

just wondering why would someone put all his information up for the whole world to see? everyone on myspace can put they are horny, have 2 profiles on myspace or on a dating website say if they like porn and shit like that. sorry this really pisses me off. reguardless if he did this its not right to put someone's info up like this without permission from the guy's family members.....believe me i would know...i am a family member of tony perez
  • Jessica, your "family member" is a walking pile of shit. I'm glad you are pissed. FYI, Perez put the info "for the whole world to see." He didn't have any problem at the time. Now that he's a suspected killer and all, I'm sure he regrets providing such insight.
