Jody Rilee-Wilson: Autopsy Inconclusive
The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner failed to find Jody Rilee-Wilson’s cause of death. However, it has been determined that someone dragged her to the area where her body was found after she had died. There were abrasions to her back and hand, and a leg contusion. Someone had to have dragged her at least 35 feet from a logging road into the woods.
A spokeswoman for the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office claimed that they had very little to work with, thus the delays in reaching their conclusions, or lack thereof.
Jim Rilee, Jody’s father, believes that authorities had decided the case prematurely, thinking "it was an overdose and somebody dumped her body." Jim Rilee is the deputy mayor of Roxbury, New Jersey. New Jersey Representative Rodney Frelinghuysen, wrote a letter last week to Oklahoma Representative Dan Boren asking for a boost in getting things done with the case. The Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office is no longer accredited. It is also understaffed.
The body of Jody Nicole Rilee Wilson, 23, was found May 8, on the side of a road near the top of Poteau Mountain in LeFlore County, Oklahoma. Jody was last seen alive on May 5. That day was the same day that her husband, Donald Lee Bocephus Wilson, left with her three-month-old baby to attend a funeral in Clayton, New Mexico –almost 600 miles away. He reported her missing when he returned. Her body had already been found at the time, but was unidentified. Jody’s father, Jim Rilee has said that she planned to go to the funeral. Why she stayed behind only to be found dead is still a mystery.
Jody’s Chevy Blazer was found on June 9. It had been abandoned at Huckleberry’s Pig Out Palace, a restaurant in Henryetta, Oklahoma –approximately 2 hours away from Wilson’s hometown. Her truck had been parked at the restaurant between 3 and 4 weeks, according to investigators.
A spokesperson for the OSBI says that leads have run out.
The Morris County Sheriff’s Office (New Jersey) is offering up to $10,000 for information about the death of Jody-Rilee-Wilson. Call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-SHERIFF.
