Update: The Mystery of Gladys Gresham: A Little Less Mysterious
I have been seeking information about the case of Gladys Gresham. So far, the only information I have is what may be found at CBS13, with whom a Dr. Dewhurst had spoken with back in April of this year. Apparently, Dewhurst was a family friend of Gresham’s.
I have, however, acquired the death certificate of Gladys Gresham. This document is available from the California Office of Vital Records. This document seems to prove that the story has not been fabricated, as some have suspected. The certificate (available below) states that Gresham was found deceased on March 30, 1971 at 9:00 AM. Cause of death was "multiple stab wounds to chest and abdomen with hemorrhages." Injury information was described: "victim stabbed multiple times by intruder." The case was designated as a homicide occurring at her home.
The curious question remains: How come this story did not receive a large amount of media attention, considering the attack was, in many ways, similar to the Zodiac murders? Two of the attacks and three of the actual murders actually took place in the same city of Vallejo shortly after the infamous killer’s last confirmed homicide. If any one can provide actual news articles from 1971 concerning the murder of Gladys Gresham, I would be glad to hear from you.
