It seems the perverts are really attracted to youth pastor positions. Every day another one gets caught with his pants down. I also find it interesting that whenever we have one of these youth pastors turn out to be a pervert, they are always referred to as "former youth pastors," as if their position was some time in the distant past. Of course they are "former" now! But, they usually aren’t "former" until charges are filed. And I usually get all kinds of comments informing me that "I don’t know the whole story" or "God says to forgive," etc., etc.. And yes, i’ve heard of innocent until proven guilty. Spare the sermons. Freddie’s a perv –deal with it. Here’s the story:
38-year-old Jose Alfredo Coronado, better known as "Freddie," was a youth pastor at the Church of God of the First Born. His MySpace page says "I’m a Sunday School Teacher of ages 12-17 (God I love them), but op’n 2 all ages."
Freddie is facing charges of sexual battery in relation to the molestation of a boy. The alleged activity occurred while the boy was between the ages of 13 and 15 years old. There seems to be little doubt of Freddie’s guilt, as he confessed to his involvement during a telephone call, which was recorded. The call was arranged after the victim, now 18 years old approached authorities. Freddie was arrested after the phone call.
As of this writing, Freddie still works for Sumter County Supervisor of Elections, Karen S. Krauss. Earlier this week, Krauss said she is deciding what to do about Freddie’s employment. Freddie is still listed as Staff at the office’s website. His title is Election Service Center Manager. His job hasn’t exactly isolated him from youth in the past. There is even a page of photos of high school students with Freddie on the site. I’d vote him out of there.
The Church of God of the First Born has an Adolfo Coronado of Center Hill, Florida listed as the registered officer with the Florida Division of Corporations. This same Adolfo Coronado has shared the same address a Freddie, according to other records. This leads me to believe that Adolfo Coronado would likely be Freddie’s father. This might also explain how he came to be a youth pastor.
