Who Killed Cori Daye Desmond?

The body of 28-year-old Cori Daye Desmond was found Monday afternoon (2:24 PM), dumped in a ravine near a San Bernardino Mountain road. Her body had been wrapped in a bag near a turnout on Highway 330 near Running Springs. Desmond was discovered near mile-marker 38 by a driver who had pulled into a turnout. The driver had noticed what he thought was a human leg protruding from a mound of dirt. Cori Desmond’s father, Mark, found her car blue-gray Jeep Wrangler parked two blocks from the Bac Street Lounge in Redondo Beach, where she was last seen alive at about 2:30 AM early Sunday morning. Desmond, who worked as a waitress and bartender, had worked the night shift on Valentine’s Day at Beaches in Manhattan Beach. After her shift ended at 11:00 PM, Desmond went to Bac Street to hang out with friends and former co-workers.
Desmond had allegedly found herself in an argument with a man on the night before her murder. However, when she left, everything was thought to have been fine. It is unknown at this time if the incident had anything to do with her death. Police have spoke with the subject, who has not been arrested. Detectives from San Bernardino County are handling the investigation.
According to investigators, Desmond had suffered blunt force trauma. Investigators have not said if there was nay sign of sexual assault. Cause of death is pending until an autopsy is concluded later this week.
Who did this horrible deed? Who murdered Cori Daye Desmond, an attractive and outgoing young lady with a degree in criminal justice? Was it the man she had argued with at the bar? Someone she thought was a friend? Had she been abducted by a stranger? We await the answers and the capture of her killer. May it be soon.
