What Happened to Tracy Hottenstein? – Police Need Your Help

Hottenstein(Note: I might have jumped the gun on the earlier title of this post. At this time, the death has not been ruled a homicide, or even suspicious.)

Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Sea Isle City Police Chief Thomas D’Intino are asking for the public’s assistance in the investigation of the February 15, 2009 death of 35 year old Tracy Hottenstein in Sea Isle City, New Jersey.

Hottenstein’s body was found Sunday morning, February 15, at the street end on 42nd Place at the Sea Isle City Marina. An autopsy conducted Monday by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office is pending toxicology analysis to determine the cause and manner of the death. Members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Sea Isle City Police Department are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Hottenstein’s death.

The investigation to date indicates Ms. Hottenstein was last seen leaving the Ocean Drive Bar and Restaurant located at 3915 Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City at approximately 2:15am on Sunday, February 15, 2009. Attached to this release is a recently obtained photograph of Hottenstein in the clothing she was last seen wearing described as a pink plaid hat, pink scarf, and black vest. She is also described as wearing a black long sleeved top, dark blue jeans and tan Ugg brand boots. Hottenstein is further described as 5’4”, approximately 135 lbs., brown eyes and blond hair.

Prosecutor Taylor and Chief D’Intino encourage anyone who may have seen Ms. Hottenstein after 2:15am on Sunday morning or have any information into the circumstances surrounding the death to contact the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit at 609-465-1135 or the Sea Isle City Police Department at 609-263-4311.
