One question has been on my mind, and I’m sure the mind of many others: Why did Garland Bernell Harper kill his girlfriend and her two children? Speculation has varied. Some say the girlfriend may have caught him molesting the kids. Some think that maybe Triska Rose was having second thoughts about marrying this guy. We really don’t know. One thing we do know, is that regardless of the motive, this could have been prevented. It didn’t have to happen. It happened because this manipulative pretender convinced a panty-waist committee to let him walk free.
Look at the photo on this post. This is Harper after he killed a woman and two children. he looks as cool as a cucumber. This man is cold-blooded. he has a long history of violent behavior. Yet, somehow, someway, he always gets off easy. This is a capital case. This man has proven time and again that he is a waste of oxygen. I sincerely hope that he doesn’t make it to prison where he’ll have a chance that some wussy board will let him walk before he dies of old age.
Harper was sentenced to 15 years for robbery and making threats in 1990. (He pled guilty) He didn’t do the time. He got out after just two years. Did he start being a good boy after his release? No. He was sentenced to seven years in prison for robbery in 1992. (He pled guilty) He walked out a free man after serving only six months. Now he is fortunate enough to have not one, not two, but three chances at amking a go of things on the straight and narrow. So, does he walk the line? Once again, he goes back to doing his thing.
1999, he was sentenced to 40 years in prison for aggravated robbery. (He pled guilty) By now, it should have been plain to see that this is a man that needed to serve the sentence taht was meted out to him. He was a free man after only nine years. Eight months later he goes on a murder rampage. Then, as always, he confesses. Had he served his sentence, Triska Rose, Briana Roberson, and Maya Love would be alive today. He didn’t. So three innocent people have to pay for a decision that some bleeding-hearts made almost a decade ago.
One thing you can say about Harper is that he readily owns up to his wicked ways. He admits he has a drug problem. His drug counselor says that Harper is "a great manipulator." According to Click2Houston.com, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles haven’t made it clear why Harper was released.
