Police: Prostitute not assaulted by serial killer
Police are looking for a man that attacked a woman at the same location Stacey Gage’s missing van was located. Stacey Gage was the fourth and last known victim of the Daytona Beach Serial Killer. The name of the woman in this incident has not been released.
The woman, a prostitute, and her customer went behind the Water Club apartments. The two had sex and then the man asked her to perform other sex acts, which she refused. The man then tried to strangle her. She was able to escape by biting the man on the side of his body. She fell onto the roadway and other cars reportedly drove around her. The man ran over the woman’s leg as he drove away.
The woman arrived at Halifax Health Medical Center after midnight with bloody clothes. Blood was also around her mouth, leading investigators to believe the man may be seriously injured. Police have not made any official statement regarding whether or not they believe this incident is related to the serial killer.
