Bernie Ward Is No Victim – He’s a Monster!
Last night I was reading an article in the Mercury News concerning the federal government’s prosecution of child pornography. Bernie Ward’s obsession with child pornography as “Just a few mouse clicks” that changed Ward from an “apparently upstanding individual into a federal prison inmate.” The article says that Ward’s attorney, Doron Weinberg, his foray into the underworld of child predation was done in the name of journalism. Some of the photos Ward was sending over the Internet were of a three year-old child. Still, Weinberg whines that “There is nothing about prosecuting the Bernie Wards of the world that is going to stop the East European exploiters from marketing this stuff,” Maybe not, but it will stop the Bernie Wards from sending it and lusting over it. Freaking pervert.
But the images were not the worst of Ward’s offenses, which the former radio personality details in chat logs available to the public via police records. Bernie Ward is nothing short of a monster that has stolen lifetimes of innocence and turned them into dark, dirty, lives of perversion.
The defenders of these creeps also cry about the prosecutions being the catalyst for the suicides of defendants. While I feel for the families that have to go through the suicides in addition to knowing that their loved one is a sexual predator, I cannot bring myself to weep for their loss. Their passing might just be what is needed to protect future children.
if you are one of those tinfoil hat-wearing right-wing-conspiracy theorists that think this is a frame-up by conservatives opposed to Ward’s politics, read the transcripts. If you are the least bit capable of logic, you would see that this crime is very real and does indeed have victims. If you don’t see that, well, that does not surprise me. Just keep it to yourself. I believe in free speech, but I just don’t want to hear that right now.
