We’re learning more details about the murder of Neica Gibbs, the Fort Lauderdale girl found murdered after being missing for three weeks. The occurrences since June 28 are shocking to say the least. The involvement of Jason Hartley in the young girls death looks to be much more than a mere accident. There is something cold and apathetic about this young man. The details coming out about what may have occurred could mean the youth being charged as an adult in many jurisdictions. This was not the crime of a little boy.
As Jason Hartley continues to struggle with the truth, we are learning more about what happened to little Neica. I don’t think that anything Hartley says can be taken as fact, and the evidence certainly doesn’t appear to support his version of events.
Jason’s mom hung up the phone and told her son that he needed to stop playing his video game. Yes, Hartley was playing video games even as police were trying to find out who was responsible for Neica’s death.
Jason says that he and Neica had an argument when she “fell” and landed on a treadmill, where she was strangled by the straps of the machine. See, just a freak accident. He hid her body under their trailer home. After a couple of days, it being July and all, he soon found the need to move Neica’s body somewhere else because of the smell. He dragged her to the trash area. After all, he was done with her. Life goes on. It’s summertime and there are games to play.
“I’m just throwing this away.”
A neighborhood child saw Hartley moving the body with a red dolly. “I saw him dragging it. I went to the back and saw him put it there. He was like, ‘Go inside the house. I’ll be there. I’m just throwing this away,’” the boy said.
“That blue rope that she got tied up with, I’ve seen that rope over there by (Hartley’s) house so I think he did it,” said a friend of Hartley’s. Neica’s hands were tied together. Why would her hands be tied together if she accidentally fell and died? Why would somebody tie the hands of someone who is deceased?
The police are saying that Hartley may have strangled Neica after the two had sex. Police must have evidence of a sexual encounter. Neica’s hands were tied with Hartley’s blue rope. It’s really not that hard to read between the lines.
Jason Hartley is a liar. Yes, he’s a killer, and that outweighs being untruthful –but he’s still a big, fat liar. He says he felt threatened by Neica. He was scared of her because she became angry. Take a look at this guy. Photos here. He’s a big boy –and he’s afraid of a girl? He’s not only a killer, and liar, but a sissy to boot. No. I don’t believe that. What we know so far does not support that.
Neica did not solicit to Jason for $50 as he claims. Jason was not the victim of a pushy prostitute –he’s the killer of a little girl. He wanted Neica. Neica didn’t want him. He ties her up and gets what he wants. But now, he’s got a problem. Neica can talk. Neica will talk. As far as Jason was concerned, Neica Gibbs must die. So he killed her. Now he can say whatever awful things about the little dead girl he wishes. She can’t defend herself. She can’t tell her side of the story. She is dead. Only days before his arrest, Hartley didn’t describe Neica as demanding prostitute. he said that she was a was a nice girl and they liked to go swimming at the pool together. That was before he got caught.
Whether or not Hartley is going to be tried as an adult is up to the state’s attorney. I think the malice shown by Hartley is definitely worth considering. He has proven to not only be dangerous, but extremely devious in covering up his crime. He killed, and quite possibly raped, a little girl and he’s not the least bit sorry.
Reporters spoke with Jason Hartley before he was suspected –before he was arrested. At the time, he seemed to be a friend of Neica’s. He told the reporters that, “She just stopped over and talked to us about some stuff. She told us she was going to the Diamond Girl (hair salon) on Davie Boulevard,
but apparently . . . something bad must have happened.”
