Troy Barrett: Prom Night Escort and Child Rapist
New Hampshire’s motto is “Live Free or Die.” Apparently, authorities there believed that Troy M. Barrett was worthy of the former, even though he has proven to be a nothing less than a monster.
In 1996, between January and July, Troy Barrett raped an 8-year-old girl at the Governor Weare Apartments in Seabrook, New Hampshire. For this horrific series of assaults, he served a measly year (and one day) in jail.
In 1998, Troy Barrett was in trouble again. This time because he did not register as a sex offender.
The punishment for that offense must not have been to much of an inconvenience to Barrett. In 1999 he was in trouble again for failing to participate in a mandated sex offender counseling program.
In 2007, on Halloween, Troy Barrett was again found in violation. He was not home as he should have been between 5:30 to 7:30 PM (trick or treat time), but was with a female companion. The Department of Corrections issued an order to detain him. But not for long.
In 2008, Barrett drove a limousine full of high school kids around on Prom Night –with alcohol in the vehicle. The kids did not partake. But wait, that’s not all! Barrett was employed by Ambassador Limousine even thought he didn’t even have a valid driver’s license. Never mind the fact that he is a child rapist. Someone is pretty good at taking people for a ride, but who?
One of the teens became alarmed when Barrett “offered to do a different route” and offered to drive her friend home. The teen’s mother, Laura Archambault, thought this strange enough that she asked about whether the driver could have been a sex offender –something the company that hired the man should have done before they stuck him in a car with alcohol and kids. Barrett is listed as a sex offender who has been convicted of aggravated felonious sexual assault on someone under 13 (eight years old – remember).
A spokesman for the company told the Newbury Port News that he “had no idea” that Troy Barrett’s license had been suspended and that the suspension was recent. The sexual assault of a child happened over a decade ago and Troy Barrett has been a known sex offender ever since. Even a quick Google check would have found this guy out.
As a concerned Mrs. Archambault followed the limo, she called 911 for assistance in the matter but was told by the dispatcher they were too busy. Police Captain Michael Wrenn said they probably weren’t going to do anything about the sex offender angle to the case, but were concentrating on the suspended license instead. Yes people, this is the passive world in which we live. All the more reason not to leave everything up to authorities when it comes to protecting your family. What becomes of Troy Barrett, a man who violates sex offender laws quite frequently? Perhaps he’ll get that license renewed. That’ll teach him.
