Jerrold Ecklind Unlikely To Be Daytona Killer
Orlando news agencies have published two stories today concerning Jerrold Ecklind, the Ormond Beach geriatric physician charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, false imprisonment, and falsely impersonating an officer. There is not much in the articles that we haven’t already known for over a month. Referring to the Daytona Beach serial murders, the WESH.com article states that police are “99 percent certain Ecklind is not their man.” Ecklind faces up to five years in prison for the charges that have been levied against him.
DNA has been obtained from Ecklind and he is reportedly being very cooperative with authorities and their investigations.
CrimeShadows.com has compared Ecklind’s image with a sketch of an unknown suspect in a sexual assault and found striking similarities. The opinion that Ecklind closely resembles the sketch is not limited to this website, as indicated by the comments and posts on other blogs and forums discussing this suspect. Of course, all suspects are innocent until proven guilty. It is not the intention of this blog to impose guilt, only to make sure that this suspect is looked at closely in regard to crimes where similar activity has occurred. We would like to remind readers, as there are blogs and other sources with false information, that there is no sketch of the serial killer at this time. The sketch below is not that of the serial killer.

The image on the left is of Jerrold Ecklind. The image on the right is a suspect in a sexual assault.
