Denton PD grabs Dale “D-Ray” Jones
This post is an update to previous posts on murder suspect Dale Jones.
Dale “D-Ray” Jones was arrested May 28 in Denton, Texas on charges of evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). Police then discovered he was wanted on a murder warrant in Oklahoma. He is now awaiting extradition to Oklahoma, which may take a few weeks. He will then face charges for the senseless murder of Jonathan Ball.
Dale Lee Jones, 33, is accused of slashing the throat of 26-year-old Jonathan Ball, whose body was found in the street in front of his home about 1:00 AM on May 9. Denton Police Lt. Lenn Carter said that Jonathan Ball’s family had been working with America’s Most Wanted in an effort to capture Jones before he was arrested.
According to Texas records, Dale Lee Jones is also known as Dale Ray Jones. He has offenses recorded under both names.
In 1994, Jones was jailed in Denton, TX for three counts of engaging in organized criminal activity and was also being held for delivery to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. In 1995, he was jailed for engaging in organized criminal activity. Jones also has a criminal record in Oklahoma, including two counts of harboring a fugitive from justice, knowingly concealing stolen property, driving under the influence, and three counts of selling cocaine.
