Reno 911 No Joke – Or Is It?
This post has nothing to do with the Comedy Central sitcom.
There is a man in Reno, NV making serial calls to the 911 dispatchers. On one of the calls, the dispatcher reported hearing gunshots. At 6:30 PM on May 18, an off-duty officer found a man crying over the loss of his family at Wingfield Parkway and Vista Boulevard. No arrests were made and it is unknown if the incident is related to the calls.
The caller alleges to be on a shooting spree directed by his pet cats. He told police that he strangled his wife and killed his children. He said he was doing God’s work and was headed to Spanish Springs to continue killing.
He told police he was using alcohol and drugs. Hopefully this is all a delusion and the worst police have to deal with are the annoying calls.
The man refused to give his name and is using an untraceable cell phone.
If you live in the Reno area and know a guy named Abraham that has a bunch of cats, you might contact the police. Don’t call 911 unless it is an emergency!
In February, a similar situation had San Francisco Bay area police frustrated. That case was resolved.
