No Fair! Perverts Can No Longer Hide!
Pervert Ted Jensen didn’t think it was fair to have to register as a sex offender, since he committed his crimes before a law requiring offenders to register went into effect. It seems this law puts a cramp in his style. So, he’s got some lawyers that apparently think the neighbors and associates of Jensen and other early-worm fiends should go without warning.
Now that many people have decided they have had enough with this overflowing sewer of sex offenders, these predators have to be more crafty in their methods. It’s getting harder to prey on the innocent now that everyone seems to be watching their every move. Sometimes a move is all it takes to stay off of the “watch list.”
Take the case of Richard Greco, a LeFlore County, Oklahoma child molester who, after his release from the state penitentiary at McAlester, moved to Arkansas. You see in Arkansas, he didn’t have to register unless he was caught victimizing children after August 1, 1997.
Around 2001, I came across a page on the Internet from a man in Arkansas who was running some kind of interactive art program with children. His project included sand art and snow sculptures, which were spray painted in various colors. I recognized the man’s name as an Oklahoma sex offender. I was shocked to see that not only was he loose, but he was luring children into his home. Needless to say, I contacted authorities in his locale. I also sent a cryptic message to the “artist”. A message that I was sure Greco would understand. One of the sculpture photos Greco had on his website was an alligator. My message said, and I’m paraphrasing, “What a realistic looking alligator. Someone should warn the children.” That website disappeared over night. Greco apparently went off the Internet –or so it seemed.
A little searching for Greco led me to the guestbook of a young Belgian singer called Michael Junior. Here is the message Greco left on the site of the boy singer:

You tell me –why would a grown man want to see photos of a young boy singer? Isn’t that the kind of thing you’d expect from a teenage girl in love with a teen idol? I think you get the picture.
Richard, or Rich, or Richie, whichever name he uses, often lies about his age. Sometimes he’s 27. Sometimes he’s 59. Sometimes he’s 55. You see, he doesn’t want people to put two and two together and figure out who (what) he is. In reality, according to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, he is 52.

He no longer goes by the nickname “algaecat,” as he did before I discovered his Internet activity. Perhaps realizing the risk he’s taking trying to lure kids through MySpace, he chose the name “stupidcat,” instead. I would say that the name is appropriate, but I know that he’s still lurking under some rock, perhaps on the Internet, waiting to strike.
