An unidentified woman was taken from a MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) bus at gunpoint by a man who stopped the bus with his vehicle. The man, Johnnie Lee Cannon, 25, was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, hijacking a bus and boarding a bus with a concealed weapon. As of yesterday, Cannon was being held without bond after being arrested after a standoff at his home on Tree Bark Trail in Decatur, GA. The man stopped the bus and took the woman near Snapfinger Woods Drive and Wesley Chapel Road.
The kidnapped woman is described as black, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, 150 pounds and last seen wearing a black midriff sweater with a grey shirt underneath and light-colored faded blue jeans. The image at the left is a composite sketch of the woman. MARTA police ask anyone with information to call 404-848-4911.
