A serial killer is preying on the citizens of Cherokee County, South Carolina. The suspect has been described as dangerous and unpredictable. Four people have been killed so far –all within ten miles of each other– and authorities claim the homicides are related. The victims, both men and women, range in age from 15 years old to 83 years old.

The first murder occurred June 27, on a Saturday. Kline Cash, a Cowpens area peach farmer, was found shot to death in the living room of his home. Investigators said Cash appeared to have been robbed. The killer first spoke with Cash’s wife about buying some hay. She left to run some errands, returning a few hours later to find her husband dead. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department believes that Cash’s wife may have been the killer’s intended victim.

On Tuesday, June 30, the bodies of 83-year-old Hazel Keaton Linder and her 50-year-old daughter, Gena Linder Parker, were found bound and shot to death inside of Linder’s home in Gaffney.

Thursday, July 2, the killer struck again. Stephen Tyler was shot and killed at his place of business, Tyler Home Center in Gaffney. His fifteen-year-old daughter was shot in the head. she was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She is still alive but is unable to answer questions about what happened.

Authorities say that there is a tremendous amount of physical evidence linking the murders to one perpetrator. Area residents are encouraged to remain cautious and vigilant until the man is captured.

33-year-old Amy Rivera is married to a Fort Sill soldier. While her husband was off in Iraq, Amy was hanging around the base, located near Lawton, Oklahoma, partying with her good-time pals –some of whom are just as perverted as she is. Amy Rivera supplied her new Marine friends with drugs, alcohol and sex. The hussy had also made friends with a little girl who was friends with her son, who is thirteen. But, she didn’t make cookies while the two kids did homework together, or any of the things that normal adults with children do. Instead, Pedophile Amy gets all weird with the kid. Amy had sex with this sixth grade girl, a child of twelve, and she allowed her Marine friends to have sex with her, too. Amy would meet these Marines at a Lawton, Oklahoma store, and then invite them to a rented hotel room where they would drink, do drugs, and have sex. Amy and her friends did this quite a bit. Never mind that Amy is married. Never mind that Amy is the mother of three children. Never mind that she is accompanied by another child, whose parent’s don’t seem to be concerned with her own daughter’s whereabouts. It was party time. There was no need to be bothered with such boring details as responsibility, morality, or even the law. Perverts just don’t do that. It cramps their style.

The 12-year-old girl was a classmate of Amy Rivera’s son. She had been staying with Rivera at her home in Fletcher, Oklahoma. The whole sex ring thing supposedly began in March, when Amy Rivera began having sex with the girl. Rivera then started dragging the girl along to her slutty shin-digs at area hotels. The party goers would take drugs, get drunk, and engage in various other questionable activities. Everyone would have sex. As many as twenty Marines from Fort Sill have been involved in the sex ring, many merely as witnesses. Those persons are being tracked down at their current locations. Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the Army’s Criminal Investigative Command are assisting in the investigation and locating soldiers who have been rolled out to other bases. At least two other Marines are expected to be charged. Two civilians may also face charges. Of course, the degenerate party pals now claim to have thought that the little girl was sixteen. When a pervert is intoxicated and in a libidinous mood, those little numbers don’t mean a heck of a lot. The problem is, to a child, those little numbers mean growing up too fast and accumulating a wide range of psychological damage –not to mention the risk for STD’s.

Amy Marie Rivera has been charged (June 29) with procuring a child for lewdness or other indecent acts.

One of those Marines accused of having sex with the girl has already been identified. He is 19-year-old Lance Corporal Logan Byron Combs. He has been charged (July 2) with one count of first-degree rape for his involvement with the sixth grader. Logan Combs joined the Marines in September of 2008. He is currently listed as a "0800" basic artilleryman. Combs is in the Comanche County Jail with a $30,000 bond.

This whole story is sickening and shameful. Of course, I can already see fingers being pointed at the victim in this case. Why don’t you take that finger and poke yourself in the eye.

Dr. Stephen Dewhurst alludes to a "Gladys Gresham" in the CBS13 article on "Snuff Films" and Jack Tarrance, the man Dennis Kaufman claims was the Zodiac Killer.

Dewhurst claims that the woman was a friend of his family. He says that in 1971 Gresham, of Vallejo,  was sexually assaulted and stabbed 31 times. She would have been approximately 61 years old at the time of the attack.

There is evidence that a Gladys Gresham lived in the area and died in 1971. There doesn’t seem to be any contemporary news reports of this attack. Robert Graysmith didn’t seem to notice this murder when he was tallying up suspected Zodiac victims. A stabbing death in Vallejo in 1971 would have got some attention, would it not?

So, here lies a challenge to anyone who can find information about this attack. If you have any information about this case, please, let us know. I’ve asked Dr. Dewhurst to fill in the blanks. While we wait for his response, perhaps some resourceful person can help with this mystery.

Vanished

Everet Otis Roberts was last seen on May 8, 2000 as he was returning to Howe, Oklahoma from the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Mustang. He and his wife were staying at the home. Everet had left that morning at about 7:00 AM. He had an appointment with a counselor at 9:00 AM and then he was to report to work at the Fred Jones dealership, where he worked as a mechanic. His truck had apparently broken down on the east-bound lane of I-40, near the Tiger Mountain Exit. (mile marker 247) near Henryetta, OK. When the truck was located there, almost a month later, the vehicle’s drive shaft was in the bed of the truck.

Everet was a mechanic, and attempted to repair or replace the shaft, a relatively easy task for a mechanic. Everet had been given a ride back to his truck from Tiger Mountain Salvage, located 2 miles uphill, where he had carried the shaft across his shoulder. The man who had offered him the ride recalled that Everet had become frustrated at waiting for service and decided to leave, saying that he probably didn’t have the money for the part, anyway. Roberts told the man that he was on his way back home to Howe.

A call had been placed to a NAPA Auto Parts store in Checotah at about 5:00 PM on May 8, apparently from Everet Roberts. The man that took the call remembered the unusual request for a drive shaft for a 1980 Ford F-150. The location from which the call was placed is not known.

Everet’s sister, Clara Washington-Rose, has searched for Everet and clues to his disappearance since the day he vanished. She continues that search, and has vowed to continue searching until he is found. She has searched the Tiger Mountain area, a location reputed to very dangerous. She has searched under bridges and overpasses. She has made numerous phone calls and various travels in her search.

A woman reported seeing Everet working on the truck at about 11:00 in the morning. She could not recall the exact day.

A husband and wife that lived in the vicinity had driven to Henryetta on May 9. They did not recall seeing the truck at that time. However, when they returned on May 12, 2000, they spotted the truck.

An ad placed in the Henryetta Free-Lance led to a tip from a man that had spotted Everet. The man was able to describe Everet, and noted that his shirt was soiled from working on the truck. The man had seen Everet by the side of the road and offered to let him use his cell phone. Everet declined the use of the phone, stating that someone was on their way to pick him up and should be there in a little while. The man said Everet knew what was wrong with the truck and how to fix it, but didn’t have the money with him for the part. The man passed by the truck later, and Everet was gone.

Everet’s truck was found around 11:00 AM. on June 5, 2000. It was called in by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troop C. The trooper called the vehicle in to Garrett’s Wrecker service.

Roberts was employed at the Fred Jones auto dealership in Oklahoma City. He was married at the time of his disappearance. Everet and his wife, Janet, had been married about thirty years. They had two children together. Janet filed for a legal separation on May 30, some three weeks after Everet vanished. The separation was granted on July 19, 2000. The following month, Janet filed for divorce (August 16). The divorce was granted on October 7, 2000. Despite divorcing Everet on abandonment grounds, Janet has indicated that she believes Everet is deceased.

Possible Sighting

On Monday, June 12, 2000, a man that employees believed to be Everet Roberts came into a Henryetta Citgo station. The man showered and purchased a sausage biscuit.
